Hello.
My name is Fred Gooltz. I am a New York City based political activist working in the intersection between politics and the internet.
I am Director of Strategic Messaging with Advomatic, LLC. I help our clients on the internet. More on that is here. Our clients include Democratic candidates for Congress, Senate and President as well as progressive organizations of all sizes, plus some other really cool causes.

Years before Advomatic, I ran online communications for Parks1, an issue advocacy campaign in New York City as part of New Yorkers for Parks. Making neighborhood parks cleaner, safer and greener was a progressive issue that helped any Democrat who took advantage of the press hits. We were reviewed here: www.personaldemocracy.com
and www.network-centricadvocacy.net
In 2004, I worked with 21st Century Dems' Young Voter Project "VoteMob" in Ohio.
We targeted Cuyahoga County voters under 25. This was a highly responsive demographic in Ohio which was called by many "the Silver Lining of Kerry/Edwards."
Voter turnout increased an average of 90% across VoteMob's targeted precincts.
I serve on the steering committee of Drinking Liberally and its umbrella organization Living Liberally. With Living Liberally, I developed a Swing State Project referral service called
"Do More Than
Vote" which matched New Yorkers with the volunteer opportunities in NH, PA and OH that best suited them.
My online politicking started in a Yonkers, New York race where I closed-out and helped win the City Council President race for a progressive reformer Democrat. Responsibilities included strategy, communications, speech writing, eventually I was also GOTV Director. Testing theories, I used Facebook, MySpace and MiGente to do it.
As the way people use the internet has changed, so have the best practices for reaching them.
